Business Management
Students recognize, evaluate, and prepare for a rapidly evolving global business environment that requires flexibility and adaptability. Students analyze the primary functions of management and leadership, which are planning, organizing, staffing, directing or leading, and controlling. Topics will incorporate social responsibility of business and industry. Students develop a foundation in the economical, financial, technological, international, social, and ethical aspects of business to become competent managers, employees, and entrepreneurs. Students incorporate a broad base of knowledge that includes the legal, managerial, marketing, financial, ethical, and international dimensions of business to make appropriate management decisions.
Daily Assignments 50% (minimum of 12 grades)
Tests 50% (minimum of 3 grades)
A student will be responsible for obtaining and completing the makeup work in a satisfactory manner and within the time specified by the teacher. A student who does not make up assigned work within the time allotted by the teacher will receive a grade of zero for the assignment.
A student will be permitted to make up tests and to turn in projects due in any class missed because of absence. Teachers may assign a late penalty to any long-term project in accordance with time lines approved by the principal and previously communicated to students.
Grades for late work will be administered as follows:
1 day late deduct 20 pts
2 days late deduct 30 pts
3 days late deduct 40 pts
4-5 days late deduct 50 pts
6 days late grade will be a 0
No late work accepted after 5 days.
Business Information Management (1 & 2)
Students will navigate through Microsoft Office Applications following a lesson layout provided in “GMetrix”, a software dedicated to training students to pass certification exams. The following applications will be used: Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Outlook. Based on performance, some students will sit for Microsoft Specialist Exams. These certifications and skills will greatly benefit students in college, the workforce, on resumes, etc.
